2024 was an unforgettable year for Silent Book Club, filled with incredible milestones and indelible memories. With their dedication and creativity, local chapter organizers expanded Silent Book Club beyond our wildest dreams, hosting bookstore crawls, regional meetups, snowy reading retreats, audiobook walks, and hundreds of book swaps and craft parties.
As cofounders, our biggest highlight of the year was hiring our first part-time program coordinator. Jazmyn Jackson joined us in October to help onboard new chapters and manage social media. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her on the team!
In 2024, 1,071 new chapters joined Silent Book Club. There are now more than 1500 chapters across 55 countries in our global network. Want to start your own? Find everything you need to get started here. Our online community continues to thrive, with more than 200K followers on Instagram, Facebook, and Substack.
Whether gathering in person at a bar, cafe, restaurant, public park, or museum, or meeting online on Zoom, Meet, or Discord, readers around the world gathered for at least 30,000 meetups in 2024. (Probably more, we lost count…)
We are in awe of this community of readers, the generosity of our volunteers and the kindness of our members. The momentum behind Silent Book Club—and the passion for reading together—has never been stronger, and we can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store.
