Silent Book Club - Welcome to Introvert Happy Hour
A world of readers, connected online
This pandemic has affected all of us in profound ways. Never before have so many of us been in the same boat — hunkered down at home, isolated from neighbors and colleagues, anxious about work and health and loved ones. In these difficult times, there have been moments of light. Many of us have discovered new ways to connect with friends and family through video chats, long-distance dance parties, and virtual book clubs.
We have heard from SBC members, organizers, and readers that human connection is more important than ever, so we're launching a new series of online author chats where you can meet face-to-face with your favorite authors to talk about our favorite subject: books. Our first Meet the Author event will be with Angie Kim, best-selling author of Miracle Creek. We'll chat with Angie about her book, life during the pandemic, and, of course, what she's reading. The event is free, but you do need to RSVP in advance. More details here.
One last thing before we go: We've teamed up with Libro.fm to raise money for indie bookstores through the sale of socks designed by artists. The amazing Jinjin Sun designed our "All Readers Welcome" illustration, and you can see all 10 artist designs here. Make a donation to keep your toes warm and your bookstores in business!
Stay well,
Guinevere & Laura
