YOU get a book club! And YOU get a book club! And YOU get a book club!
You know who loves Silent Book Club? OPRAH loves Silent Book Club! We are thrilled to be featured in the February issue of O, The Oprah Magazine. You can read the article online or pick up an issue on newsstands now and see us in print!
It definitely was a "pinch me" moment—I mean, Oprah Winfrey is arguably the single most influential figure in publishing. Since 1996, she has anointed more than 80 books as "Oprah's Book Club" picks, each one of them becoming an instant bestseller. She is a one-woman book recommendation powerhouse. If you're reading challenge–inclined, you can see how many of them you've read on this handy printable checklist.
And while we're on the subject of reading challenges, the arrival of the new year brought on a heated debate in our Facebook group over how SBC members track their reading goals. Spurred on by Goodreads, many readers set a numerical goal for the year. Others argued against turning reading into a competitive sport, choosing instead to simply enjoy the act of reading for reading's sake. Our official SBC position? Read however you like in 2019. Whether you set a goal or take a challenge, take the advice of Rockville, MD chapter host Liza Achilles and just keep the pages turning.
Happy reading!
