Read Around the World
What's on your summer reading list?
Ahhh, the lazy days of summer, when all you want to do is stretch out in a hammock and read a good book. At least, that's all I want to do. Where's your favorite warm weather spot to read? We've got a poll going on Facebook...
Inspired by SBC chapters in London (pictured above), Portland, Maine, and Columbus, Ohio, we are taking advantage of the long days and lovely weather and taking our reading outdoors. And you can, too! Invite a few bookish friends out for a picnic in the park, bring a bottle of rosé or a thermos of ice-cold lemonade, and laze away the day with a Silent Book Club of your own.
I have finally gotten around to reading A Gentleman in Moscow and I am utterly charmed. So many of you have sung its praises, and once again Silent Book Club has not steered me wrong. The book I'm looking forward to most this summer is Us Against You, Fredrik Backman's follow-up to Beartown. I have loved all of Backman's books, from A Man Called Ove to My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry to And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer. If you're also a fan and live in the U.S., you can meet Backman on tour! Check our post below for details.
Happy summer reading!
